The meeting was called to order at 5:07 p.m.
Members present: Chairperson Reggie Schmitt, Cole, Welper.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as amended, be approved. Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Minutes of June 15, 2009, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance
Administrator for approval of contract with Prairie Construction at a cost of$8,550.00 to install a
roof hatch, ladder and hoist in the penthouse roof at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention
Center be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations
for pre-authorization to expend $1,999.15, plus estimated shipping costs of $17.78, for door
mount for siren, lighting arrestor, 25 watt VHF mobile radio, programming and installation for
new early warning siren installed at Washington & Williston be approved. Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Waste
Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $3,200.00 for parts and labor for repair of
Lagoon raw pump be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Waste
Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $3,949.70 for onsite labor and parts for
Easton pump be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Waste
Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $22,095.00,. plus estimated shipping costs
of $655.00, for 144, 64-gallon garbage carts and 306, 95-gallon yardwaste carts be approved.
Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance
Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $1,500.00 for grate of zero depth pool overflow
trough at Byrnes Pool be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance
Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $2,500.00 for additional parts for chiller
installation at the Waterloo Public Library be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for
pre-authorization to expend $4,698.00 for di-electric inspection on Traffic Department aerial
trucks be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for
pre-authorization to expend $4,698.00 for di-electric inspection on Parks Department aerial
trucks be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend$4,200.00 for approximately 65 feet of 7 foot high fence with a roll away
gate for the party deck area at Riverfront Stadium be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
