Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the Minutes of May 18, 2009, as proposed,
be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that a garbage refund in the amount of$35.29
for 4535 Kimball Avenue be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that a travel request for Fire Inspector/Arson to
attend Fire/Arson Origin & Cause Investigation Class on May 16-30, 2009, with costs not to
exceed $232.20,be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the recommendation of the Fire Chief to
accept the bid in the amount of $3,005.00 from Midwest Safety Counselors, Inc. for 4-gas
monitors and accessories be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that a travel request for Central Garage
Superintendent to attend Best Business Practices Seminar—Fleet Specific on May 29, 2009, with
costs not to exceed $125.00, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that a garbage refund in the amount of$31.50
for 3535 Ansborough Avenue be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
The request of the Police Chief for authorization to seek bids to equip seven black and white
Ford Crown Victoria police patrol cars was reviewed. The process involves the installation of
various pieces of equipment (emergency lightbars, equipment trays, rear seat partitions, etc.) and
the application of the vinyl graphics that are currently displayed on the patrol vehicles. The
Police Chief is requesting authorization to seek bids to outfit seven patrol vehicles with various
pieces of equipment, the installation of equipment in the cars and the purchase and application of
the vinyl graphics. Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that said request be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director
for pre-authorization to expend $5,400.00 for Young Arena ammonia ice system annual
preventative maintenance be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director
for pre-authorization to expend $1,372.00 for collection equipment for the dog park be approved.
Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director
for pre-authorization to expend $19,000.00 for safety railing for Riverfront Stadium party deck
be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Police Chief for pre-
authorization to expend $3,852.50, plus estimated shipping costs of$87.94, for taser equipment
be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.

authorization to expend $2,596.25 for T-shirts for the WPD and Me Program be approved.
