Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Minutes of April 20, 2009, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Airport Director for authorization to seek bids for one-year rental for a 20' Rotary cutter (pull behind) and a 72" front mount side discharge mower be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The following bids received for phase two of the Waterloo Police Department's crime Lab remodeling project were reviewed: Bid Amount Bid Amount Bidder Remodeling Cabinets Crossroads Construction $10,972.00 S.J. Construction, Inc. $14,369.33 Dimensions $12,995.70 Office Concepts LTD $17,155.12 It was the recommendation of the Police Chief that the low bid in the amount of$10,972.00 from Crossroads Construction for the remodeling and the low bid from Dimensions in the amount of $12,995.70 for the cabinets be accepted. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for two Government Relations Consultants to travel to Waterloo, Iowa on May 5-6, 2009 to see project areas and explore further project potential, with costs not to exceed $1,400.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Contracts and Grants Coordinator for authorization to seek bids for asbestos survey and report for U.S. Bank Drive Up Teller Building at 425 Cedar Street be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Contracts and Grants Coordinator for authorization to seek bids for asbestos survey and report for structures located at 231, 239 and 251 Jackson Street be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Director of Cultural & Arts for pre- authorization to expend $4,364.00 for floor machine be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $2,799.22 for a/c unit for computer room on the second floor of city hall be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $1,200.00 for tempered insulated glass panel at UNI-CUE be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $5,249.45 for sheetrock repair and painting at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center.
