Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as amended, be approved. Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Minutes of January 5, 2009, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Police Chief for authorization to
seek bids for accessories for methamphetamine trucks be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Police Chief for authorization to seek
bids for the evaluation process for the 2007 Methamphetamine Initiative Grant be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.
The following bids received for one 2009 Chevrolet Impala was reviewed:

Lujacks Auto Plaza $19,582.00
It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Central Garage that the low bid in the
amount of$16,699.40 from Bob Brown Chevrolet be accepted. Moved by Welper, seconded by
Cole that said recommendation be approved. Aye$:„ 'bree: Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a lodging request for visiting artist to travel from
Brooklyn, New York on January 15-17, 2009 to.host.reception and gallery talk for the Springs,
Sprockets & Pulleys Exhibit, with costs not to exceed $974.00, be approved. Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Maintenance Foreman and
Maintenance Mechanic to attend backflow re-certification training in Waterloo, Iowa on January
22, 2009, with costs not to exceed $250.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a yard waste refund in the amount of$117.00 for 1151
Lorraine Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Chief Financial Officer to travel
with the Cedar Valley Coalition Group to meet with congressional delegation members in
Washington, DC on March 1-3, 2009, with costs not to exceed $1,700.00, be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.

Mexico City and Oaxaca for art collection on Febidaary 14-28, 2009, with costs not to exceed
$5,422.00, be approved. Councilperson Cole noted that the travel expenses will be funded
through funds donated for the trip. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for
pre-authorization to expend $3,940.00, plus estimated shipping costs of$80.00, for repairs parts
for street sweeper be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
