Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Minutes of November 3, 2008, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for three Firefighters to attend Iowa
Weapons of Mass Destruction Task Force training in Anniston, Alabama on October 4-12, 2008,
with costs not to exceed $1,500.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Doug Carter,
Fire Chief, explained the Iowa Weapons of Mass Destruction Task Force program.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Fire Department Instructor to teach
Technician Recertification Class in Marshalltown, Iowa on November 12-14, 2008, with costs
not to exceed $245.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for four Firefighters to attend Iowa
Weapons of Mass Destruction Task Force Training in Anniston, Alabama on November 1-9,
2008, with costs not to exceed $4,400.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Combination Inspector to attend
2008 Code Seminars for the International Codes and National Electrical Code in Ankeny, Iowa
on December 9-10, 2008, with costs not to exceed $460.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Fire Chief for pre-authorization to
expend $1,050.00 for new helmets be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Assistant Leisure Services Director
for pre-authorization to expend $1,600.00 for sod for landscaping at Byrnes Tennis Court be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Assistant Leisure Services Director
for pre-authorization to expend $1,100.00 for sod for landscaping at Riverfront Stadium be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $15,000.00 for signage for South Hills golf course be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Acting Superintendent of Waste
Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $2,000.00 for uniforms be approved.
Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Acting Superintendent of Waste
Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $1,600.00 for uniforms be approved.
Ayes: Three. Motion carried.

Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $1,404.00 for top loading balance be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.

Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $2,339.00, plus estimated shipping costs
of $200.00, for rebuilt air actuator for Easton aeration blower inlet valve be approved. Ayes:
