Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the Agenda, as amended, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the Minutes of June 16, 2008, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. The request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for approval of contract with Restoration Services Inc. at a cost of $5,255.00 for exterior restoration at Young Arena was reviewed. Young Arena has been experiencing water infiltration through its split-face block system and construction joints. Restoration Services submitted a proposal to restore the exterior to a water resistant surface by recaulking all joints, tuckpointing missing or deteriorated mortar, etc. Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that said request be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the request of the Contracts and Grants Coordinator for approval of award of bid and contract with American Testing and Training at a cost of $1,190.00 for asbestos survey/report of homes at 120, 123 and 133 Argyle Street be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for approval of additional repairs of dormers on the north and south side of Memorial Hall at a cost of $3,261.88 be approved. Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operation for authorization to purchase 20 pushbuttons for traffic signals at a cost of$2,080.00 be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that a garbage refund in the amount of $31.50 for 744 Sunrise Boulevard be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for pre-authorization to expend $1,828.34 for two Honda motor trash pumps plus suction and out take hoses be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Police Chief for pre- authorization to expend $5,145.79 for computerized locking system and related hardware items for doors within the Police Department be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Fire Chief for pre- authorization to expend $3,815.00, plus estimated shipping costs of $26.48, for 250 smoke detectors and 50 lock boxes be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Fire Chief for pre- authorization to expend $2,880.00, plus estimated shipping costs of $100.00, for four Level A hazardous materials suits be approved. Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-authorization to expend less than $9,000.00 for approximately 300 linear feet of 6 foot cart path for the Iry Warren Golf Course be approved.
