Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Minutes of April 28, 2008, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a garbage refund in the amount of $50.00 for 5311 Blue Bonnet Drive be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Chief Financial Officer to attend 2008 Iowa Governmental Roundtable in West Des Moines, Iowa on May 21, 2008, with costs not to exceed $280.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Chief Financial Officer to attend Local Government Update Iowa Governmental Audits and Iowa Governmental Audits — Internal Control in Coralville, Iowa on May 28, 2008, with costs not to exceed $330.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Manager of Rehabilitation to attend Environmental Review Training in Ames, Iowa on May 20-21, 2008, with costs not to exceed $205.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator to approve award of bid to KW Electric Inc. in the amount of $18,600.00 for upgrade of electrical system at Byrnes Pool Pump House be approved. In response to a question from Councilperson Steve Schmitt, Mr. Cutwright noted that the city has been renovating the pools for the past seven years. Improvements were made to the underground piping, the pools were painted, bath house improvements, and this year work on the pump house replacing sand filters and electrical. Ayes: Three. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend less than $16,200.00 for electrical upgrade at Young Arena be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Streets for pre- authorization to expend $3,500.00 for purchase of uniforms be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend less than $1,500.00 for drop in heaters for Riverfront Stadium be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend less than $6,600.00 for replacement furnace and air conditioner for 1101 Campbell Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for pre-authorization to expend $8,500.00, plus estimated shipping costs of $500.00, for 28 EPAC Eagle controllers be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $1,956.60 for cost of repairs to Police Vehicle #153 be approved.
