Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the Minutes of August 6, 2007, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Eric, Thorson, City Engineer, reported that no bids were received for F.Y. 2008 Culvert Repair
& Drainage Improvement Project. The project will be rebid. Moved by Greenwood, seconded
by Cole that this item be tabled indefinitely. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Police Sergeant to attend
Practical Homicide Investigation Seminar in Wheaton, Illinois on September 23-28, 2007, with
costs not to exceed $1,398.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for two Police Officers to attend
Firearms Instructor School in Johnston, Iowa on August 20-31, 2007, with costs not to exceed
$1,670.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a yard waste refund in the amount of$135.00 for
1605 Newell Street be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Director of Cultural & Arts
Commission for pre-authorization to expend $3,583.00, plus estimated shipping costs of
$350.00, for an interactive kiosk unit for the Youth Pavilion be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Police Chief for pre-
authorization to expend $2,697.00 for arbitrator services be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Police Chief for pre-
authorization to expend $52,229.50 for 50 Tasers along with duty and training cartridges be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. This is an amendment of an additional $250.00 to the
amount approved on June 11, 2007.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend less than $2,000.00 for repairs to John Deere mowing equipment be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend less than $1,000.00 for meals for the City Junior Golf Tournament be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $3,040.00 for two Minuteman Port-A-Scrub floor scrubbers be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Police Captain for authorization
to increase Line Item 3000 (Cash) and Line Item 1512 (WPD Forfeitures) in the amount of
$10,000.00 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. (A copy is on file in the City Clerk's
office.)
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole
that the meeting be adjourned at 4:50 p.m. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
