Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Minutes of March 19, 2007, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Police Chief for authorization to seek bids for improvements to the Property Evidence Unit on the 3`d floor of City Hall was reviewed. The Property and Evidence Unit is responsible for maintaining custody and control of evidence that is seized or found by the Police Department until such time that the case is resolved in court or disposed of through other avenues. Improvements to the Property Evidence Unit would include a new hallway for the exit door, new walls to expand and secure the room, flooring, ceiling tiles, painting, storage lockers and some electrical and carpentry work. This area also needs new heat/air ducts in the existing storage area and a possible larger air exchange unit. General Obligation Bond funds and forfeiture funds will be used to pay for the improvements. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the request of the Police Chief for authorization to dispose of old office furniture through the city auction be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for authorization to remodel restroom in the Sign & Traffic building at a cost not to exceed $2,500.00 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a sewer refund in the amount of$126.60 for 5311 Blue Bonnett Drive be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to purchase one 2007 Chevrolet Impala at a cost of $16,803.00 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to seek bids for one mid-size sedan type vehicle for use by Police Department be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to purchase one 2007 Express Van at a cost of$20,867.00 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the amended travel request for Chief Building Inspector and Chief HVAC Inspector to attend 2003 and 2006 International Residential Code (IRC) class in Kansas City, Missouri on March 8-9, 2007, with costs not to exceed $320.00, be approved. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the request of the Superintendent of Waste Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $35.74 for shipping cost of freon be approved. Ayes: Three. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-authorization to expend less than $2,000.00 for improvements to electrical outlets, breakers and lights in the shop and waiting area be approved.
