Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Agenda, as amended, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Minutes of November 6, 2006, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Police Chief for authorization to seek bids for a Nikon brand D200 digital camera and accessories for the Police Department's crime lab was reviewed. At the present time, each of the four officers assigned to the crime lab have their own digital camera. Over the next few years, due to anticipated retirements, they will experience some turnover in the personnel assigned to the crime lab. To prepare for the upcoming retirements, the Police Department intends to assign a fifth officer to the crime lab so they can train the officer and allow this officer to shadow the present crime lab officer before that officer retires. It will be necessary to purchase a fifth digital camera. Once all the retiring officers cycle through and they are once again down to four officers in the crime lab, the fifth digital camera will be used as a back-up camera. The request of the Leisure Services Director for authorization to dispose of three culverts from the Katoski Greenbelt, left from the Bike Trail Project was reviewed. The City of Hudson will remove and transport them from the site. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Associate Engineer for approval of payment of $8,700.00 to B&B Builders and Supply for the F.Y. 2007 Repair of M.L. King Jr. Drive Bridge Approaches was reviewed. At the October 16, 2006 Finance Committee meeting, a contract in the amount of$7,050.00 was awarded to B&B Builders and Supply for this project. During Construction, it was discovered that the voids underneath the bridge approaches were larger than anticipated. Five additional cubic yards of flowable mortar were needed to completely fill the voids. The final qualities resulted in a net increase of $1,650.00 for a grand total of $8,700.00. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to purchase a 3-wheel hydraulic drive street sweeper for the Street Department be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for approval of agreement with JayTech, Incorporated at a cost of$19,812.00 to provide chemicals and technical expertise to treat the close loop HVAC systems and cooling towers in city building be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Police Lieutenant to attend Iowa Multi Jurisdictional Drug Task Force Training in Altoona, Iowa on November 29-30, 2006, with costs not to exceed $207.28, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for two Police Officers to travel to Chicago, Illinois on September 26-27, 2006 for homicide investigation, with costs not to exceed $332.13, be approved. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for two Combination Inspectors to attend Improving Residential Building Inspection Skills Training in Madison, Wisconsin on December 6-8, 2006, with costs not to exceed $2,070.00, be approved.
