Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the Minutes of October 2, 2006, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried. It was reported that no bids were received for the F.Y. 2007 Repair of M.L. King Jr. Drive Bridge Approaches project. The Associate Engineer requested authorization to schedule a new bid deadline of Thursday, October 12, 2006 for the project. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that authorization to schedule a new bid deadline of October 12, 2006 for above project be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that the request of the Contracts and Grants Coordinator for authorization to seek bids for asbestos survey for two stand-alone structures addressed at 93-97 Vinton Street known as the Maintenance Building and Cooper Building be approved. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to seek bids for the purchase of one Aerial Lift Truck for the Leisure Services Department be approved. The request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for authorization to replace HVAC controller at the Center For The Arts at a cost of $11,360.00 was reviewed. During construction of the new addition at the Center For The Arts, the roof above the Law Cohrt Theater was removed. The removal of the roof permitted large amounts of water to rain into the building. The result was the control that acts as the brain for the HVAC system was shorted out by the rainwater and needs to be replaced. A new web-based controller will be installed. Some of the cost will be borne by the contractor's construction insurance, with the city paying approximately $5,000.00. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that said request be approved. Ayes: Two. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for approval of equipment purchase at a cost of$22,844.28 for the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that the request of the Airport Director for authorization to increase petty cash by $544.00 be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that the request of the Leisure Services Director for authorization to increase petty cash by $250.00 be approved. Ayes: Two. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Nebraska State Patrol Lieutenant to attend Traffic Accident Investigation course in Waterloo, Iowa on October 29- November 3, 2006, with costs not to exceed $558.90, be approved. Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Police Sergeant and Police Officer to attend M16 Armorer School in Pewaukee, Wisconsin on December 5-8, 2006, with costs not to exceed $1,566.00, be approved.
