Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Minutes of August 7, 2006, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Police Chief for authorization to donate retired K-9 lago to Police Officer McFarland was reviewed. The Police Department was recently given authorization to seek bids to replace lago, who was retired as of August 7, 2006. Officer McFarland has worked as handler to lago since 1999 and is requesting that he be allowed to keep him as his personal family dog now that lago is retired. Officer McFarland understands that any cost associated with the care of lago will be is sole responsibility. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that said request be. approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a garbage refund in the amount of $481.00 for 1211 N. Barclay Street be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Police Lieutenant and Police Sergeant to attend Remington Armorer School in Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin on September 5-8, 2006, with costs not to exceed $1,190.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Fire Captain to attend training in Emmetsburg, Maryland on September 10-16, 2006, with costs not to exceed $1,259.20, be approved. Moved by Greenwood, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Police Officer to attend Hazardous Devices School training in Huntsville, Alabama on September 3 — October 13, 2006, with costs not to exceed $5,360.00, be approved. Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for pre-authorization to expend $1,445.50, plus estimated shipping costs of $65.00, for transmission for squad car 101 be approved. Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the City Clerk for pre-authorization to expend $9,338.00 for annual dues for Iowa League of Cities for FY07 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the City Clerk for pre-authorization to expend $28,873.74 for annual membership dues for INRCOG be approved. Ayes: Three. Moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $1,450.00, plus estimated shipping costs of $140.00, for parts for the chipper be approved.
