Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that the Minutes of January 9, 2006, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for authorization to seek bids for a traffic monitoring camera and installation for the San Marnan Drive and Hammond Avenue intersection was reviewed. The system will include monitoring and pan, tilt, zoom capability from the traffic control center. The estimated cost should not exceed $24,500.00. GO Bond funds are available for this project. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for authorization to seek bids for vehicles for Police, Engineering and Traffic Operations Departments was reviewed. The vehicle replacement includes eight patrol cars and two program cars for the Police Department, one pickup truck and one car for the Engineering Department and one pickup truck for Traffic Operations. Existing 2004 and 2005 General Obligation Bond proceeds will finance these purchases. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that a garbage refund in the amount of$31.50 for 418 Belmont Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that a garbage refund in the amount of$52.50 for 1765 Independence Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that a garbage refund in the amount of $126.00 for 3475 Kimball Avenue be approved. Ayes: Two. Abstain: Cole. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that a garbage refund in the amount of$39.00 for 166 Desoto Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that a travel request for Mayor Hurley to attend Iowa League of Cities Legislative Day and Iowa League of Cities Executive Board meeting in Des Moines, Iowa on February 1-2, 2006, with costs not to exceed $281.96, be approved. Moved by Cole, seconded by Greenwood that a travel request for Mayor Hurley and Community Planning & Development Director to attend Cedar Valley Coalition meetings in Washington, DC on March 27-30, 2006, with costs not to exceed $1,400.00 each, be approved.
