Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that Minutes of September 26, 2005, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator Authorization for authorization to install a set of walk rails at Byrnes and Gates Pools at a cost of$16,800.00 be tabled for one week. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The agreement with Earth Tech at a cost of$3,200.00 to survey the Chicago, Central & Pacific Railroad Company property located between Mulberry Street and the Cedar River, just west of Elm Street was reviewed. The city has acquired properties surrounding the Rath Administration Building, including dilapidated homes and vacant lots along Elm Street to the west of the Rath Administration Building site. The Building & Grounds Committee recently approved staff moving ahead with the acquisition of the Chicago, Central & Pacific Railroad Company land that was formerly used for rail line purposes. As part of the acquisition, the city will need to have the land surveyed for a proper legal description. Staff sent out requests for bids on surveying the land, and Earth Tech submitted the only bid at $3,200.00. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that said agreement with Earth Tech at a cost of $3,200.00 to survey the Chicago, Central & Pacific Railroad Company property located between Mulberry Street and the Cedar River, just west of Elm Street be approved. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Triad Architects-Youth Pavilion Consultants to travel to Waterloo, Iowa on January 18-21, 2005, April 27-April 28, 2005, July 7- 8, 2005, with costs not to exceed $2,830.00, be approved. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Police Investigator to attend Internet Crimes Against Children training in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 23 — 28, 2005, with costs not to exceed $497.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $1,295.00 for purchase of 350 softball visors for players in the Optimist Club Youth Softball programs be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $1,777.50 for purchase of 450 minor league baseball caps for the youth tee-ball and coach pitch programs be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $1,975.00 for purchase of 500 baseball caps for the Optimist Club Youth Baseball programs be approved.
