Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the Minutes of September 6, 2005, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Bids received for clothing for Waterloo Fire Rescue employees were reviewed. It was the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the bid from Wertjes Uniforms for the dress uniforms, the bid from Farm and Fleet for work pants at a cost of $15.99 per pair of pants and Advantage Screenprint & Embroidery for T-Shirts at a cost of $5.75 per shirt be accepted. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to send three WFR personnel to Hawkeye Community College Paramedic Program at a total cost of $7,010.55 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the City Planner for authorization to purchase of access rights located at 184-190 West 18th Street at a cost of $2,700.00 in conjunction with 18th Street Bridge Project was reviewed. As part of the 18th Street Bridge Project, the city has worked with several property owners regarding the replacement and relocation of some of the driveway location entrances onto 18`h Street. Bruce Carpenter, the owner of the property at 184-190 West 18`h Street, had a driveway cut close to the intersection. The driveway was located on 18`h Street and the city worked with Mr. Carpenter to move that driveway onto Commercial Street. Mr. Carpenter has agreed to give up the driveway entrance for the amount it would cost the city to put it in at that location, which is $2,700.00. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a garbage refund in the amount of $31.50 for 744 Sunrise Boulevard be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the request of the Manager of Information Services for authorization to donate 50 retired computers to the Iowa National Guard—Manager be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Human Resources Manager and Director to attend Iowa Public Employer Labor Relations Association Annual meeting in Bettendorf, Iowa on September 29-30, 2005, with costs not to exceed $359.04, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for two Code Enforcement Officers to attend IowACE 2005 Fall Conference in Ames, Iowa on October 20-21, 2005, with costs not to exceed$308.00, be approved. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for two Police Investigators to travel to Greenville, Illinois on August 23-24, 2005 for ongoing police investigation, with costs not to exceed $286.60, be approved.
