Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two.
Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the Minutes of July 5, 2005, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
The following bids received for uniforms and accessories for the Police Department for FY06
were reviewed:
Bidder Bid Amount
Palace Clothiers $1,254.00
Wertjes Uniforms $1,213.70
It was the recommendation of the Police Chief that the bid from Palace Clothiers in the amount
of$1,254.00 be accepted. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that said recommendation be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to seek
bids for the purchase of a portable lift system for the maintenance shop be approved. Ayes:
Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
The following bids received for Fire Station#1 Building Restoration were reviewed:

Restoration Services $ 13,450.00
Vernon Bascom Company $123.816.00
It was the recommendation of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator that the low bid
from Restoration Services in the amount of $13,450.00 be accepted. Moved by Welper,
seconded by Clark that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a garbage refund in the amount of $94.50 for 122
Leland Avenue and $94.50 for 126 Leland Avenue be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent:
Greenwood. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Councilperson Cole to attend Iowa
League of Cities 107th Annual Conference & Exhibit in Des Moines, Iowa on September 14-16,
2005, with costs not to exceed $380.00, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Councilperson Schmitt to attend
Iowa League of Cities 107th Annual Conference & Exhibit in Des Moines, Iowa on September
14-16, 2005, with costs not to exceed $380.00, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Building Official/Maintenance
Administrator to attend 2005 International Code Council Annual Conference in Detroit,
Michigan on September 24 — October 1, 2005, with costs not to exceed $2,590.00, be approved.
Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
