Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the Minutes of June 6, 2005, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The following bid received for the F.Y. 2005 Flood Control Riprap Spraying#2 was reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Control Services $37,135.00 It was the recommendation of the Associate Engineer that the bid from Control Services in the amount of $37,135.00 be accepted. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for authorization to refund plan review fee in the amount of$1,131.90 for 2060 Crossroads Boulevard be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $3,160.00 to purchase a telephone system and three telephones as part of the LEIN Region 2 grant be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $1,980.05 to purchase 400 books of 5-part Uniform Citation and Complaint form tickets be approved. Police Chief Tom Jennings reported a bid was received from a local vendor and a vendor from Texas. Councilperson Welper stated that since we are not taking the low bid will the vendor ever bid again. Councilperson Welper noted that the bid from Professional Office Services is approximately ten percent higher than the bid from Thompson Company. Councilperson Gunderson stated there would be shipping costs with the out-of-state vendor, and last year when we purchased the tickets from them they were not as good a quality. Councilperson Greenwood stated that last year the out-of-state vendor added shipping costs and wanted to increase the price. Following comments a vote was taken on the above motion with the following result. Ayes: Two. Nays: Welper. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for pre-authorization to expend $8,000.00 to purchase a signal control cabinet for Ansborough and University Avenues be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for pre-authorization to expend $2,040.00 to purchase blank stop signs be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for pre-authorization to expend $5,400.00 to purchase a traffic control cabinet to upgrade the intersection of 1st Street, Franklin Street and Mullan Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $2,755.00 for cost of preventative maintenance and repair of Young Arena resurfacers be approved. Ayes: Three.
