Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to seek bids for a hose tester at an estimated cost of $3,000.00 be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Greenwood. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Police Officer to attend Rifle Instructor School in Des Moines, Iowa at November 1-5,2004, with costs not to exceed$488.00, be approved. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for two School Resource Officers to attend Drugs, Guns and Gangs Class in West Des Moines, Iowa on October 14, 2004, with costs not to exceed$388.00,be approved. Moved by Welper, seconded by Clark that a travel request for Curator to attend State Museum Association Annual Conference in Okoboji, Iowa on October 10-12, 2004, with costs not to exceed$370.00, be approved. Moved by Clark, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $22,000.00 to replace parapet flashing on the Street Department Garage be approved. The roof was installed by Fuller/Service Roofing 20 years ago. The city has used Service Roofing on all flat roof repairs as other contractors use single membrane and not build up roof. Ayes: Two.
