Included in the grant award is $29,575.00 for the purchase of crime lab equipment and related training. A quote was received for a Krimesite Imager package and light source at a cost of $28,075.00. The grant also allocated $1,500.00 to use toward the training of Department personnel in the use and care of the Kimesite Imager ckage and light htisoon carried.e. Ayes: The request of the Police Chief for authorization to purchase a teleprompter and various methamphetamine related educational and promotional items at a cost of $14,995.00 was reviewed. The Waterloo Police Department was awarded a Small Rural Communities Methamphetamine grant in the amount of $222,222.00 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Included in the grant award is $14,995.00 to be used for the purchase of equipment, to include a teleprompter, and various methamphetamine related educational and promotional items. A quote in the amount of $4,699.00 was obtained from Electronic Communication Systems, Inc. for a teleprompter that will be compatible with existing CATV equipment. Also included is the purchase of the following methamphetamine related educational and promotional items: Public Service Announcements for newspaper and television, drug education kits and ID guides, street drug and meth lab CD ROMs, and various promotional items bearing anti-meth related messages. The grant has allocated $10,296.00 for the purchase of these items, for a total dollar amount of$14,995.00. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Police Chief to accept grant funds in the amount of$222,222.00 and increase line item budget be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that Bills Payment, as contained in Schedule AP640, dated July 21, 2003, pp. 1-87, in the amount of$717,607.50, be received, placed on file and approved and forwarded to the full council for approval.
