Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Minutes of July 7, 2003, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase rear brakes for Engine 8 at a cost of$2,201.62 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase an Extendo bed and rubber mat for Battalion 300 at a cost of$2,859.00 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase transmission for a Chevy Suburban at an estimated cost of $1,595.00 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Fire Chief to amend the travel request for Fire Lieutenant to attend Rope and Rescue Technician I/II Class in Iowa City, Iowa on May 19-23, 2003 to add additional cost of$61.20 for mileage be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Councilperson Clark stated he agrees with paying for the gas, but not the mileage. Councilperson Clark stated he believes our travel policy to reimburse employees .36 per mile is flawed. The contract with Winninger Realtors to provide appraisal services at a cost of $2,500.00 for property located at the former Construction Machinery C ompany s ite, located j ust o ff Linden Avenue and Glenwood Street, was reviewed. As part of the agreement to develop and environmentally test the former Construction Machinery Company site, located off Linden Avenue and Glenwood Street, the city is responsible for appraisal of the property. Staff recently received the surveying documents to divide it into two parcels. City staff has been working with the property owner, Glenwood Properties, to redevelop the site. This agreement involves the city acquiring the westerly and northerly parcel for environmental testing and potential clean up with Brownfield funding. The private property owner will retain the easterly parcel for redevelopment. Staff sent out a request for appraisal bids to four companies and received one proposal. Winninger Realtors bid $2,500.00 to provide the appraisal services. It was the recommendation of the City Planner that the bid from Winninger Realtors at $2,500.00 be accepted for appraisal of the property. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for an Airport Security Coordinator to attend Airport Security Coordinator Training School at Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 27, 2003, with costs not to exceed $540.41, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for Two Rehabilitation Specialists to attend Solving Water Intrusion and Mold Problems in Iowa Seminar at Cedar Rapids, Iowa on August 27, 2003, with costs not to exceed $648.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $3,820.55, plus shipping costs of$950.00, to pay for electric zamboni ice resurfacer repairs be approved. Ayes: Three.
