Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Minutes of February 24, 2003, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Leisure Services Director for authorization to accept the bid from Scott's Electric at an hourly rate of $29.25 and Sieben Electric at an hourly rate of$50.00, at a not to exceed total of$10,000.00, for electrical work at 1101 Campbell Avenue, Byrnes Tennis Center, golf pro shops, Straub Field and other park structures be approved. Ayes: Two. Abstain: Jordan. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to pay invoice from Covenant Medical Center in the amount of $2,360.88 for medical drugs be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded Getty that a travel request for Administrative Secretary to attend Web design course at Waverly, Iowa on March 10, 17, 24 and 31, 2003, with costs not to exceed $164.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Don Temeyer, Director of Community Planning & Development, will review the $65.00 charge for mileage to and from Waverly for four trips. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for two Fire Instructors to teach recertification class at Marshalltown, Iowa on February 10-12, 2003, with costs not to exceed $427.01, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Fire Engineer to attend ARFF Training School in Dallas, Texas on May 3-25, 2003, with costs not to exceed $2,018.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for the Director of Cultural & Arts Commission to attend Cultural Advocacy Day and participate in conference held by Department of Cultural Affairs in Des Moines, Iowa on March 5-6, 2003, with costs not to exceed $195.00, be approved. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $1,129.75 for green house supplies for annual flower beds be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $3,219.00 to pay for material and labor for dry wall at the Leisure Services shop be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $3,134.19 to repair police vehicle#103 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for pre-authorization to expend $1,300.00 to pay MidAmerican Energy for two poles with guy wires for flashing beacons to be installed at the intersection of Orange Road and Kimball Avenue be approved.
