Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Minutes of February 3, 2003, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Mayor to meet with representatives
of the State Department of Commerce and attend Iowa League of Cities Legislative Day and
League Executive Board meeting in Des Moines, Iowa on February 11-13, 2003, with costs not
to exceed $189.00,be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Fire Captain to travel to Dallas,
Texas for certification of arson dog on May 31 - June 6, 2003, with costs not to exceed $880.00,
be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Manager of Rehabilitation Services
and Rehabilitation Specialist to attend Housing Quality Standards Certification Workshop in
Manhattan, Kansas on March 3-6, 2003, with costs not to exceed $900.00 each, be approved.
Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for two Fire Instructors to teach
Recertification Class in Marshalltown, Iowa on February 11-12, 2003, with costs no to exceed
$270.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a garbage refund in the amount of $360.00 for 814
West 4th Street be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to sell
fire engine side compartments be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to repair
Medic 331 at a cost of$2,213.82 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the City Clerk for pre-authorization to
expend $2,300.00 to pay for maintenance of timeclocks, modems and software for the time clock
system be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Superintendent of Waste
Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $2,232.20 to purchase a filter belt be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Superintendent of Waste
Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $5,200.00 to purchase one hundred 95-
gallon garbage carts be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Police chief for pre-authorization to
expend $2,666.67 to repair vehicle#850 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $19,956.02 to purchase material for fence replacement at Dane Baseball
Complex be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $9,894.50 for labor costs to replace fence at Dane Baseball Complex be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
