Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Minutes of November 4, 2002, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to seek bids for two v-box salt spreaders to be used by the Street Department be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried. The request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to purchase 1995 F250 Ford extended cab at a cost of$2,500.00 to be used by Central Garage mechanics was reviewed. The used 1995 F250 Ford extended cab with tommy lift tailgate on rear of box will be purchased from Wingfoot, formerly Goodyear, at the price of $2,500.00. The vehicle will be used by Central Garage mechanics to run service calls. The current 1970 canteen van used by the mechanic who works out of the Street Department will no longer pull itself on its own out of the landfill. The 1970 van would go to auction. The %a ton Ford will work well to haul tool boxes, tires and other heavy objects with the lift gate. GO bond funds will be used to purchase the 1995 Ford extended cab. The request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase SCBA Dynamic Tester and laptop computer at a cost of$9,320.00 was reviewed. The SCBA Dynamic Tester and computer will replace the portable regulator tester currently being used. The equipment is used to make sure the SCBA (masks) are functioning properly and trouble shoot to make needed repairs. The Fire Department will have to replace the current machine by January 1, 2003 to stay in compliance with NFPA standards. The equipment will be purchased using GO Bond funds. The request of the Police Chief for authorization to purchase computer and camera equipment at a total cost of$9,133.72 was reviewed. The Police Department has been approved to receive $9,660.98 from the United States Attorney's Office. The funds are designated to purchase communications and evidence gathering equipment to be used in support of anti-terrorism activities. The Police Department is requesting authorization to purchase the following evidence gathering and communications equipment: 2 Dell Laptop Computer and 2 Printers $4,185.72 2 Sony Digital 8 Nightshot Video Cameras and 2 Nikon Coolpix 5700 Digital Camera w/Accessories S4,948 00 Total $9,133.72 Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that said request be approved.
