Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the Minutes of October 14, 2002, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the City Planner for approval of proposal from the University of Northern Iowa Institute for Decision Making to prepare revised Vision Iowa application at a cost of$2,500.00 was reviewed. The proposal from the University of Northern Iowa Institute of Decision Making to prepare the revised Vision Iowa application at a cost of$2,500.00 will allow the city to ask for additional economic development assistance all year long. The City of Cedar Falls will also contract with UNI for the same assistance. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a garbage refund in the amount of$150.00 for 1141 Lincoln Street be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for four Police Officers to attend Northwestern University Center for Public Safety's First Line Supervisor School in Johnston, Iowa on November 4-8, 2002, with costs not to exceed $1,303.12, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Associate Engineer to approve bid from B & B in the amount of$800.00 to fill void under the pavement on Sixth Street between Washington Street and Jefferson Street was reviewed. The following quotes were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount B & B Builders $800.00 Ernster& Company, Inc. $866.25 The quotes include work by the contractor to fill void under existing slab with flowable mortar. The Street Department will finish traffic control and the Engineering Department will provide core drilling of the hole as needed. It was the recommendation of the City Engineer that the quote from B & B Builders in the amount of$800.00 be accepted. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $1,152.00 for sod to rebuild tees #9 and #18 at Iry Warren Memorial be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $1,900.00 to purchase USGA turf advisory be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $1,545.33 to repair police vehicle #843 (1999 Ford Crown Victoria) be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $19,983.05 for police duty and practice ammunition be approved. Ayes: Three.
