Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the Agenda, as amended to add Item No. 3 under New
Business, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the Minutes of August 12, 2002, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the travel request for two Police Sergeants to attend
National Homicide Seminar in Kansas City, Missouri on October 25-30, 2002, with costs not to
exceed $1,815.00, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the travel request for Director of Cultural & Arts
Commission to attend Iowa Museum Association Board Meeting and Retreat in Council
Bluffs/Omaha on August 26-27, 2002 and to attend State Historical Society meeting in Des
Moines, Iowa on August 28, 2002, with costs not to exceed $350.00, be approved. Ayes: Two.
Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Fire Chief to amend the travel
request to attend the International Fire/Rescue Securing the Future Seminar in Kansas City on
August 22-25, 2002, to include mileage in the amount of$238.71, be approved. Ayes: Two.
Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Fire Chief for pre-authorization to
expend $3,000.00 to contract with UNI on the CDC grant to do pre and post test for the
education prevention program be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage
for pre-authorization to expend $2,346.87 to purchase a pack manifold for an automated garbage
truck be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that Bills Payment, as contained in Schedule AP640, dated
August 19, 2002, pp. 1-85, in the amount of $585,829.01, be received, placed on file and
approved and forwarded to the full council for approval. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion
carried.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that
the meeting be adjourned at 4:55 p.m. Ayes: Two. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
