Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two.
Absent: Hurley. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the Minutes of June 17, 2002, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Hurley. Motion carried.
Hurley now present at 3:03 p.m.
Councilperson Hurley stated that the Chief Financial Officer would like to amend the agenda to
add a warrant correction as Item No. 7 under New Business.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the Agenda, as amended adding Item No. 7 under New
Business,be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Item No. 1 was pulled from the agenda until staff is present to answer questions.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a sewer refund in the amount of $58.40 for 1934
Partridge Lane be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Mayor, City Planner, and
Community Development Director to travel to Washington, DC on July 14-16, 2002 to discuss
federal funding opportunities for Affordable Housing, with costs not to exceed $1,344.00 each,
be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Fire Chief to attend International
Fire-Rescue Securing the Future Conference in Kansas City, Missouri on August 22-25, 2002,
with costs not to exceed $992.75, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for a Councilperson to attend Iowa
League of Cities 104th Annual Conference and Exhibit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 18-
20, 2002, with costs not to exceed $290.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Chief Financial Officer to transfer
EDI grant funds in the amount of$80,424.35 for police expenses in the Brownfield area and to
transfer the payroll amount for June 28, 2002, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
The request of the City Planner to approve payment of $4,200.00 for additional architectural
services in conjunction with the Depot Renovation Project was reviewed. Struxture Architects
has submitted an invoice in the amount of $8,565.75 for additional services for the depot
renovation. The fee covers the various change orders required by UNI-CUE for the project.
Struxture Architects has suggested a compromise of$4,200.00, splitting the cost with the city.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Chief Financial Officer to transfer of
$381,574.31 from Fund 290, Federal Projects, to Fund 205, Local Option Tax Fund, and
$52,512.65 be transferred from Fund 423, Brownfields to Fund 205, Local Option Tax, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to
expend $2,505.76 to purchase 10,000 Iowa Uniform Citation and Complaint forms and 5,000
Iowa Uniform Arrest Citation and Complaint forms be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
