Chairperson Jordan called the meeting to order at 4:26 p.m.
Members present: Chairperson Jordan, Hurley, Getty.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Jordan that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two.
Absent: Getty. Motion carried.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Jordan that the Minutes of May 20, 2002, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Getty. Motion carried.
Getty now present at 4:28 p.m.
The request of the Police Chief to transfer three computers from the Police Department to the
911 Communications Board was reviewed. In April 2002 the Police Department was authorized
to transfer four computers to the 911 Communications Board for use as the backup Public Safety
Answering Point (PSAP). These computers have been transferred. The Black Hawk
Communications Center is requesting an additional three computers for the equipment room to
replace the computers they are using for faxing, E911 interface and for the Iowa/NCIC interface.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Jordan that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
The request of the Assistant City Planner to accept the bid from Schenk Engineering in the
amount of$3,600.00 to survey property generally located from East 611' to East 11th Streets was
reviewed. As part of the acquisition contract for the railroad property from East 6`'' to East 11th
Streets, the railroad provided legal descriptions to the city. However, the available legal
descriptions are by metes and bounds, and it necessary for the city to survey the property for
acquisition. The city is acquiring the railroad property along with other properties in this area
through a Brownfields grant for the development of the riverfront housing along the Cedar River.

Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the bid from Schenk Engineering in the amount of
$3,600.00 to survey the property generally located from East 6th to East 11I' Streets be approved.
Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for an Airport Board Member to attend
2002 FAA Central Regional Airports Conference in Kansas City, Missouri on June 10-12, 2002,
with costs not to exceed $591.00 be approved. Kim Bakker, Assistant Aviation Director,
reported that this travel request and the travel request for the Aviation Director will be reduced
because they will be flying to Kansas City. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the amendment to the original travel request for an
increase in cost in the amount of$139.00 for the Chief Financial Officer to attend GFOA Annual
Conference in Denver, Colorado on June 15-20, 2002, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $3,199.00 to purchase one CL9 Versymmetirc lift be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.
