Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the Minutes of May 6, 2002, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to seek bids for one 4/4 pickup truck for the Electrical Department and one 3/4 ton van for the Building Inspection Department be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for four Police Officers to attend 2002 Midwest Association of Traffic Accident Investigators Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 11-14, 2002, with costs not to exceed $1,740.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the a travel request for Maintenance Electrician to attend NEC2002 Code Update Class in Waterloo, Iowa on May 20, 2002, with costs not to exceed$165.00,be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for Electrical Foreman to attend NEC2002 Code Update Class in Waterloo, Iowa on May 21, 2002, with costs not to exceed $165.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Mayor Rooff stated that the travel request for the Human Rights Executive Director, Fair Housing Coordinator, four Human Rights Commissioners and Director of Jesse Cosby Center to attend National Fair Housing Policy Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on June 8-15, 2002, with costs not to exceed $14,654.50, is the single, highest travel request that has come before him. Mayor Rooff stated he sent a letter to Walter Reed, Executive Director of the Human Rights Commission, requesting information on the Fair Housing Program grant, including a copy of the grant agreement, total number of travel requests approved, list of other uses for the grant, etc. Mayor Rooff stated he has pulled this travel request from tonight's council agenda. Walter Reed, Executive Director of the Human Rights Commission, stated that Mayor Rooff already has that information and that Mayor Rooff signed the contract. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the travel request for the Human Rights Executive Director, Fair Housing Coordinator, four Human Rights Commissioners and Director of Jesse Cosby Center to attend National Fair Housing Policy Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on June 8-15, 2002, with costs not to exceed $14,654.50, be tabled to the May 16, 2002 council agenda meeting. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Superintendent of Waste Management Services for pre-authorization to expend $1,470.00 to purchase replacement reheat coil for the administration building be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic Operations for pre-authorization to expend $6,162.75 to purchase three transmitting units for the three new outdoor early warning siren systems be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that Bills Payment, as contained in Schedule AP640, dated May 13, 2002, pp. 1-87, in the amount of $5,781,166.99, be received, placed on file and approved and forwarded to the full council for approval. Ayes: Three.
