Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Hurley. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the Minutes of April 29, 2002, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Hurley. Motion carried. The following bids received for chassis and snow/salt/sand equipment were reviewed: CHASSIS Bidder Bid Amount Cedar Valley Freightliner $45,922.00 Hawkeye International Trucks $47,386.00 DUMP BODY, PLOW AND SALT/SAND SPREADER Bidder Bid Amount Stuber Truck Sales $24,561.35 Trans Iowa Equipment $29,700.00 Eddy Walker $28,839.00 Stuber Truck Sales was not recommended as they did not follow bid guidelines to have equipment bid approved as approved equal prior to bidding. Eddy Walker was not an acceptable bid as they had too many deviations to the specifications. Gary Stuber stated he did not feel there was ample time for him to get pre-approval. Mr. Stuber stated his dump box bid met the criteria and everything met specifications. Mr. Stuber stated he is concerned he will never be able to meet the specifications as his company is not large enough. It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Central Garage that the bid from Cedar Valley Freightliner in the amount of $45,922.00 be accepted for the chassis and the bid from Trans Iowa Equipment in the amount of$29,700.00 be accepted for the dump body, plow and salt/sand spreader. Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that said recommendation he approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Hurley. Motion carried. The following bids received for a police canine were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Vohn Liche Kennels $4,250.00 - Option 1: Untitled Dog $5,250.00 - Option 2: Titled Dog When the Police Department selects a dog, the department sends Sergeant Chapman, the trainer and assigned dog handler, to the kennel to hand test and select a dog. Until that time, the Police Department will not be certain if the dog selected will be an untitled dog (not trained) or a titled dog (trained). The last two dogs were untitled and were trained by Sergeant Chapman. Actual costs will be determined at a later date. It is the Police Chief's recommendation that the only bid received be accepted and depending on the dog selected, the expenditure not exceed $5,250.00, plus approximately $253.00 in equipment for the dog that will be purchased when the dog is selected. Funding for the purchase of the dog and equipment is available in the Police Department's Canine Trust Fund. Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the bid received from Vohn Liche Kennels be approved and the Police Chief be authorized to purchase a police •pai.uro uotloIA •Aapnlj :luasgy •omi :saAy •pano.tddu aq `ZOOZ `LT-9 AuIN uo rmoj `sauioiN ski ui as.moj aouagtjjaluj tuu!tu!..0 Npomiap aoua tjjaiuj luatuaoJoJug mg.j puailg of Joiallsanuj aoijod .OJ 00'001$ JO lsoo ut asga.tout uu .ioJ lsanba.i januti juui5uo of ivauzpuawr aqi ieui uupio f Xq papuooas `Amp Xci panoyAj •papiuo uolioyAj •AapnH :luasgy omj :saXV •panoJdde aq lsanbal pies Imp uepiof Aq papuooas `AllaJ Ag panow loop aqi jo uoiiujjgisui puu jgnotual puu xoq .real mau g Jo uoliujjtisul `ajguo sns.zan sduiis l3tj jo uotlejjpisut sapnjout osip jesodoxd aqj •juouloaja guiislxa agi Suisn loop matt u jjglsut of si slooQ pjo,-ig ssiamtjos utoij irsodozd aqi '00'000`0£$ Oi 00'000`SZ$ Aialguuxoidde st loop mau e aoJ 1s03 all '00'90L`0I$ Jo isoo u iu .coop aril Jo ivatuaoujdaJ .ioj [psodatd papinold Aatjl pug `palouluoo sum loop all Jo iamloujnuutu aq j, •.loop aril 5uuco.zlsap `punol2 atji of jjaJ pue awn atjl le do sum loop aq1 •sajgeo xis paddeus itodur alp lg 11 uuq opuodzoo pasuaj aril ut loop prawn() BIZ x ,09 ata •pamalnat sem 00'90L`OI$ Jo lsoo g ie JaSuuq aie.todzoo lu loop prati.tano aoujdaJ of uotluz1otjlnu .JoJ uoUginy Jo .JoloatiQ luulstssy atjl JO lsanba.t ati1 •pau.ueo uotlow •Aaj.mjj :luasgy •oms :saXy •panotddr aq luauiooi d jo tunpueJotuaw pies imp uucuo f Xq papuooas `Alia9 Xq panow •jjuti u puu awn mud aq iitm pug Aiunoas atjl aprnold 1Pm snow° aoijod AInP jjo '£OOZ `i JaquzaoaQ g2notgl paslnquzial aq jjtm Alto aql imp sainsua pug atop paunbaa atjl Ouunp itodim atn lu taom) aoijod u anug of slsoo s,Aiio alp sIanoo uotlus stututpy Aiunoas uotlgltodsurkt atjl tjlim luatuaaBy jo umpugtowayA ata •suuua1u sr lions `lutod)joago atjl iu palanoostp am mil stuaii jaaiiijo jo.zluoo qui •L •sla2uassrd pug siauaa.tos `luiod3joatio 2uivaaios Nip Alunoos jjutano aqi.zoJ apinotd '9 •anuan imam atjl ui pajpuutj aq jjim asuo Nip auitu clap of sauuotjlnu imam AJiioN 'S •iuiod5joago atjl q no.rtp stuali pazuotjinuun A.ugo of idtuailu oqm sTunptniput uiuiaQ •j7 •s.m000 muj amp uotigjoin 1Jl uotiou algudotddu mu! •£ •iulodhjoago SuluaaJos alp Jo Sa91Atiou aul tjitm $uuaJ1alut st irnpinlpul ue aIagm suoiiunits of puodso>j 'Z •Ailntior juuiutuo of aoua.uaiap patutg ug aptno.td 'I :smojjoj sr aq jjim 3todtig atjl p suoiiounj muatuuudaQ aoijod aqZ •laodtly juuo!SaZI oojaalgM agi iu ivautaoIoJua mgj apinold of Alitigisuodsaa alp tjitm paS1ugo uaaq srq luatui1udaQ aoijod ata •pamatnaJ sum £OOZ `j zaqutaoaQ tjdno.ttii l_tod.ny ooj.tal1M alp lg snow) aoijod aptnold of slsoo Jo luaums1ngtulaa IoJ uoilu.tisiuiutpy Alimoas uoilu3todsugl1 Jo luautlzudaJ solids pallun aril tiltm luautaaBy Jo tunpug1owayAJ y •pal.ugo uoliow •Aajznjg :luasgy om j :so!V •panoJddu aq lsanbat plus trip ugpto f Xq papuooas `Alfa) Aq panoyAJ •aoud uodn paai Ajjuninut g iu .Jua1 jguotiippu ur loj pamaua.t aq Amu mg.real auo .toJ si Jarmo° aqi sdutu t aril luau pug of suo.tlud iioosa `suo.zied chum JO lsanbal uodn 'pun sioignaia puu sXum.ttuls s)joago osjr 1olornuoo a4Z •pa.moas Aj.tadoid a.zg SOOIJJO pug stjiooq 1anisro `sga1e 32ul01s Hu imp 5uunsut pug 5uDjoago puu `saiiinilor .to/pug uosiad snototdsns .Jo3 5ui)ioatjo `sduzu1 plus tuoij puu of salno.t pajanu.tl uotuutoo aril sg Ham sg seam luaoufpe 2utpunozms pug sduum all )jjgm of uosiad e :apnjout saotntas aqi •)jaam lad sAup uanas `ltpupuu pug •urd 00:8 Jo smog alp uaamiaq Aum)jjuM o plpg iaans tp_mod ail pug dureH 2uppud apts lsoM `dutg21 anuany Nred •g loans mg •g atjl punam pug ui Alunoas sapinotd 1oioutiuoo aqj, •pamatnat sum sdunu Alto Joj saotntas Aiunoas .lo3 spiq Naas of uoiluzuoginu .roJ 3pai3 Ail) all Jo isanbai a4Z •pauteo uotioyAJ •Aajml-j :luasgy omj :soy •panoJddu aq lsanba1 plus iutjl uup1of Xq papuooas `Apia) Xq panoyAI .spun) luatudinbg ielidg3 £00Z yid 5uisn pasgtiomd aq jjim a.miitun3 ata •palajdwoo si A.toluanui ue 'nun ajgeilunu aq lou jjim lsoo Jo aluumiisa uy '066I ut pasutio nd sum a.znllum3 ivauno atj j •s1iggo apls pug s1igtjo }jsap 2uipnjout `a.mliuzn3 aoIJJo Jo paau ui st luatuvudaU aoijod au •pamainaJ sum antiitun3 aoIJJo .Ioj spiq Maas of uotluzpoglnr .Jo3 Jai4J aogOd atji Jo isanbai oq •pautuo uotloyAj •Aaj.ml-1 :luasgy oMZ :soy •ivatudinba ui 00'£SZ$ snjd `00'0SZ`cs paaoxa of lou isoo u iu aulugo Z a5ud Z00Z `9 XulAI aaliltutuoj aougu!A Finance Committee May 6, 2002 Page 3 Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that a travel request for Medical Supervisor to attend Management of Emergency Medical Service Class in Emmitsburg, Maryland on June 2-14, 2002, with costs not to exceed $192.00, be approved.
