Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the Minutes of February 25, 2002, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Fire Chief for approval of rental payment in the amount of$6,000.00 to the Hazardous Materials Regional Training Center was reviewed. The Fire Pals Program uses two offices located in the Hazardous Materials Regional Training Center throughout the year. The CDC grant pays the Center for the office space. Fire Chief Ned DeBerg stated he called real estate agents for a cost to rent office space in the area. The Fire Pals Program does not pay utility costs, but is provided Internet connection. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for Assistant City Attorney to attend Bankruptcy Seminar in Ames, Iowa on August 15-16, 2002, with costs not to exceed $447.00, be approved. Prior to a vote on the above motion, the following comments were heard. Sang-Ki Han, Assistant City Attorney, stated the city is a large creditor, and he is trying to recapture loans, parking fines, fire and building inspection fees. The funds for the travel request is budgeted in next year's budget, but the city can save $50.00 by early-bird registration. Mr. Han stated he does not have a city vehicle assigned to him. Following comments a vote was taken on the above motion, with the following result. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Police Lieutenant to attend 2002 Iowa Women's Police Association Training Conference in Altoona, Iowa on March 24-26, 2002, with costs not to exceed $258.20, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for Leisure Service Director, Sports Commissioner, Assistant Sports Commissioner, and Program Supervisor to attend Iowa Park & Recreation Association State Conference in Waterloo, Iowa on March 25-27, 2002, with costs not to exceed $435.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that a travel request for Police Sergeant to travel to Springfield, Missouri on March 18-19, 2002 to pick up a copy machine, with costs not to exceed $185.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that a travel request for Fire Instructor to teach class for Advanced Transformers in Boscobel, Wisconsin on March 6-8, 2002, with costs not to exceed $330.00, costs to be reimbursed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $2,296.13 for repair of police vehicle #826 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Getty that the request of the Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $3,055.00 to purchase Tactical Unit supplies be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Hurley that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre- authorization to expend $2,125.00 for DNR required plugging of monitoring wells at 1101 Campbell Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three.
