The request of the Police Chief for authorization to purchase computer equipment at a cost of $23,966.00 was reviewed. The Police Chief is requesting authorization to purchase the following equipment: Data 911 MDC Upgrades $ 5,600.00 15 Replacement PCs $16,785.00 3 Netgear Switches $ 1 581.00 Total $23,966.00 Moved by Hurley, seconded by Jordan that the request of the Police Chief to purchase computer equipment at a cost of$23,966.00 be approved. The following bids received for a generator for the Electrical Department were reviewed: Bidder Rid Amount Star Equipment No Bid Tractor Supply $1,549.99 Gierke-Robinson $1,042.00 It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Central Garage that the low bid from Gierke-Robinson in the amount of $1,042.00 be accepted. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Jordan that a travel request for Police Officer to attend Tactical Officer Certification Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on February 25-28, 2002, with costs not to exceed $270.00, be approved. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Jordan that a travel request for the City Forester to attend 46th Annual Shade Tree Short Course in Ames, Iowa on March 12-13, 2002, with costs not to exceed $188.60, be approved. Moved by Hurley, seconded by Jordan that a travel request for a Police Lieutenant to attend Midwest Regional Law Enforcement and Mental Health Conference in Springfield, Illinois on March 19-22, 2002, with costs not to exceed $410.00, be approved.
