RESOLUTION NO. 2022-465
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO MUNICIPAL
PIPE TOOL CO., LLC OF HUDSON, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT
OF $877,405.00 (BASE BID), $88,134.90 (ALTERNATE NO. 1)
AND $45,000.00 (ALTERNATE NO. 2), AND APPROVING
THE CONTRACT, BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF
INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2023 CIP
PIPELINING PHASE IVA3 CONTRACT NO. 1063, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Municipal Pipe Tool Co., LLC of Hudson, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $877,405.00 (Base Bid), $88,134.90 (Alternate No. 1) and $45,000.00 (Alternate No.
2), in conjunction with the FY 2023 CIP Pipelining Phase IVA3 Contract No. 1063, and is the
apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Municipal Pipe Tool Co., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2022-464, after public hearing on July 18, 2022, in conjunction with the FY 2023
CIP Pipelining Phase IVA3 Contract No. 1063.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Municipal Pipe Tool Co., in the amount of $877,405.00 (Base Bid),
$88,134.90 (Alternate No. 1) and $45,000.00 (Alternate No. 2), in conjunction with the
FY 2023 CIP Pipelining Phase IVA3 Contract No. 1063, is hereby awarded to Municipal
Pipe Tool Co.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Municipal Pipe Tool
Co., in conjunction with the FY2023 CIP Pipelining Phase IVA3, Contract No. 1063, are
hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
