Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the Minutes of August 27, 2001, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the travel request for two Police Investigators to
attend Clandestine Laboratory Certification Course in Ames, Iowa on September 23-28, 2001,
with costs not to exceed $1,125.00, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the travel request for Cultural & Arts Curator and
Education Director to pick up artifacts for the Junior Gallery Exhibit in Decorah, Cedar Rapids
and Elk Horn, Iowa on September 11 and September 17, 2001, with costs not to exceed $140.00,
be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $3,750.00 to purchase T-shirts for the 2001 Mayor's OlympiKids
Downtown Fun Run be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $6,000.00 to purchase fertilizer and weed killer for city parks and
softball fields be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Superintendent of Traffic
Operations for pre-authorization to expend $16,600.00 for five EPAC controllers and one MARC
Master be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Acting Fire Chief for pre-
authorization to expend $795.00 to purchase display board and case for use during safety fairs
and conferences be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Acting Fire Chief for pre-
authorization to expend $821.70 to purchase c-collars be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent:
Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage
for pre-authorization to expend $1,230.50 for automatic transmission for squad car be approved.

Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage
for pre-authorization to expend not to exceed $880.00 to purchase a 25 ton heavy equipment air
jack be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Superintendent of Waste
Management Services to amend pre-authorization to expend an additional $140.00 to repair TV
van camera be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Director of Human Rights
Commission for pre-authorization to expend $2,722.40 for travel expenses for four persons to
attend National Study Circle Conference in Washington, DC on October 11-14, 2001 be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried.
