Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the Minutes of April 9, 2001, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Councilperson Krizek stated that the committee just received letters from Department Heads
regarding the vehicle policy, and that committee members have not had enough time to review
the letters and they will be placed on next week's agenda.
The following bids received for parking cashier services at the West Fifth Street/Convention
Center ramp and the terminal parking lot booth at the Waterloo Airport were reviewed:

City &National Staffing $ 8.61 per hour
Manpower $10.44 per hour
It was the recommendation of the City Clerk and Assistant Aviation Director that the low bid
from City & National Staffing at a cost of $8.61 per hour be accepted. Moved by Gronen,
seconded by Jordan that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
The request of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for authorization to purchase a drinking
fountain for the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center at a cost not to exceed $400.00 was
reviewed. The drinking fountain is inoperable on the Jefferson Street side of the first floor of the
Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center. Facilities Maintenance will purchase and install the
unit at a cost not to exceed $400.00. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that said request be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the request of the Superintendent of Streets for an
exception to the city's policy on employees being permitted to take city vehicles homes be tabled
for one week with the Street Department authorized to continue taking city vehicles homes until
next week's meeting. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $2,475.00 to purchase 225 adult size baseball pants for participants of
the 5`h-8`'' grade baseball and softball programs be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $1,102.50 to purchase 350 pair of 4" traditional stirrups for participants
of the 3`d - 8"' grade Optimist baseball and softball programs be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $1,181.25 to purchase 225 youth size baseball pants for participants of
3`d 4`h grade baseball and softball programs be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $790.20 to purchase 17 dozen leather softballs to be used for 5'h - 8`1'
grade Optimist girls softball games be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage
for pre-authorization to expend not to exceed $700.00 to replace front wheel hub assembly on a
motor grader be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
