Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the Minutes of February 5, 2001, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Gronen. Motion carried. The request of the Police Chief to construct a wall in the Police Department basement area to expand the property evidence storage area was reviewed. The property evidence storage area on the third floor of the Police Department is full, and there is a need to expand the evidence storage area in order to maintain enough storage capabilities for evidence that is maintained for criminal trials and court appeals. There is an area in the Police Department's basement area that could be utilized, but a wall will need to be constructed in order to maintain security of the evidence. Part of the area that is being considered will still have to be assessed by other police department personnel, and the new wall is necessary to maintain security and ensure evidence control. The Police Department is requesting authorization to out source the construction project. The following quotes were received for construction of the wall: Bidder Bid Amount Jerry's Building& Remodeling $1,925.00 Eherenman Construction $2,865.00 Funding is available in the City Hall Capital Improvement Fund and/or the Police Department building maintenance line item. This item was reviewed and approved earlier today by the Public Safety Committee. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the Police Department be authorized to construct a wall in the Police Department's basement area to expand the property evidence storage area at a cost of$1,925.00. The request of the Superintendent of WPFC/Sanitation& Recycling to amend the travel request for a Sewer Maintenance Foreman to attend educational training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin for an additional amount of$170.00 was reviewed. On January 16, 2001, the City Council approved a travel request for the Sewer Maintenance Foreman to attend an educational course in Madison, Wisconsin on March 26-28, 2001, with costs not to exceed $1,156.00. The employee is scheduled to leave on March 25, 2001, which increases the cost for the hotel, parking and meals an additional $170.00. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that a garbage refund in the amount of$60.00 for 3251 West 4th Street be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Getty that the request of the Superintendent of WPFC/Sanitation & Recycling for pre-authorization to expend $1,137.50 to purchase electrical connectors be approved. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Getty that the request of the Superintendent of WPFC/Sanitation & Recycling for pre-authorization to expend $698.00 to purchase a locator be approved. Ayes: Three.
