Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the Minutes of September 5, 2000, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Assistant Director of Aviation for authorization to purchase a runway cutting edge for snowplow at the Airport was reviewed. The following bids were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Trans Iowa Equipment, Inc. $2, 226.00 Schmidt Engineering & Equipment $2, 720. 00 Cedar Valley Freightliner $2, 545. 00 The cutting edge is a poly edge that is not currently being used in the snowplowing equipment. The purpose of purchasing the new cutting edge is to reduce the amount of wear and damage caused by snowplowing on the ramps and to extend the life of the concrete. The Airport Board will review this purchase at its September 19, 2000 meeting. Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the Airport be authorized to purchase a runway cutting edge from Trans Iowa Equipment, Inc. at a cost of $2, 226. 00. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Assistant Director of Aviation to approve moving expenses in the amount of $3, 480. 13 for the Director of Aviation was reviewed. During the interview process for the Director of Aviation, it was determined by Airport Board members that moving expenses up to $3, 500. 00 would be reimbursed. Jeff Robbins, the new Director of Aviation, has submitted moving expenses in the amount of $3, 480. 13 for services provided by Stevens Worldwide Van Lines. Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Fire Chief to purchase safety and education materials at a cost of $16, 330. 00 for the Injury Prevention Program was reviewed. The purchase includes the following: Materials to build office $5, 115.00 Sharp AR-286 Digital Copier Printer $6, 058 .00 Desk Top Dell Computer $2, 137.00 Dell Inspiron 7500 Laptop Computer $2, 521 . 00 HP 2200Cxi Inkjet Color Printing $ 499. 00 The total cost for the materials is $16, 330. 00 and will be funded from the Center for Disease grant. Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the request of the Director of Cultural & Arts Commission for pre-authorization to expend $651 .00 to purchase chairs and a credenza be tabled until next week as staff was not present. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-authorization to expend $1, 730. 93 to purchase replacement parts for play equipment at Gate Park and Hope Martin Park be approved.
