Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Krizek that the Minutes of August 28, 2000, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The following bids received for roadway deicing salt were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Independent Salt Company $29.70 Per Ton IMC Salt, Inc. $32.35 Per Ton Cargill, Inc. $32 .41 Per Ton It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Streets that the low bid from Independent Salt Company in the amount of $29.70 per ton be accepted, for an estimated quantity of 5, 000 tons, or a total bid of $148, 500. 00. Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase protective clothing from Securitex Inc. at a cost of $894 .42 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase supplies at a cost of $610.00 for Fire Prevention Week 2000 was reviewed. The supplies include posters and banners and will be used for Fire Prevention Week 2000. Funding is available from the Learn Not To Burn Grant. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase supplies at a cost of $2, 490.00 for the bicycle safety program was reviewed. Funding is available from the SPICE Grant 2000-2001 . Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that a garbage refund in the amount of $51. 00 for 703 Maynard Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-authorization to expend $1, 704 .44 for tables and chairs for the Tennis Center be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the request of the Acting Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $595. 00 to purchase Training Officer 2000 for Windows be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Gronen, seconded by Jordan that the request of the City Clerk for pre-authorization to expend not to exceed $1, 200. 00 to hire a grant writer to apply for funding from McElroy Trust to be used to hire a person to inventory and index artifacts at Memorial Hall be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the request of the Acting Police Chief for pre-authorization to expend $525. 00 for renewal of Annual Support Analyst' s Notebook Software Program be approved.
