Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two.

Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that the Minutes of September 27, 1999, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Krizek. Motion carried.
The request of the Building Official for authorization to purchase a Ford Taurus at a cost of
$14,910.00 was reviewed. The unit will replace the last aging vehicle in the Building Department.
Two local dealers were contacted to locate a program car for the Building Inspection
Department. Rydell Chevrolet provided a quote of $16,321.00 for a 1999 Lumina and Dick
Witham submitted a quote of$14,910.00 for a 1999 Taurus. As a low mileage program car could
cost in the middle $13,000, it was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Central Garage
that the bid from Dick Witham in the amount of $14,910.00 for a 1999 Taurus be accepted.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Two.

The request of the Fire Chief for authorization to purchase a new Stryker ambulance cot at a cost
of $2,125.00 was reviewed. The cot will be used on the new ambulance. Moved by Jordan,
seconded by Murphy that said request be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Krizek. Motion
carried.
The request of the Assistant City Planner for authorization to purchase two computers and a
network laser printer at a cost of$4,889.00 for the Neighborhood Services office was reviewed.
Neighborhood Services will be located in a portion of the former Carnegie Library building. The
new computers and printer will be used by the Neighborhood Service Coordinators and support
staff to provide information and identify resources available to the 23 established neighborhoods.
The new computers are 550 MHz Pentium III machines, and the printer is a HP Laser Jet 4050T
with two trays. Total cost for the two computers and printer is $4,889.00. The Computer
Technical Review Committee reviewed and approved said purchases. Funding for the equipment
is available in the Neighborhood Services budget. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that
said request be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Krizek. Motion carried.
The request of the Community Development Director for authorization to purchase a new CAD
workstation at a cost of $4,479.00 was reviewed. New GIS mapping software was recently
acquired for the Community/Housing programs, and a new computer will need to be purchased to
handle the data. The cost of the CAD workstation is $4,479.00 and is included in the Community
Development budget. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that said request be approved.

Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that a garbage refund in the amount of$240.00 for 237
Miriam Drive be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Krizek. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that the request of the Superintendent of Water
Pollution/Flood Control for pre-authorization to expend $1,244.00 to repair Lagoon mixer be
approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Krizek. Motion carried.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage
for pre-authorization to expend $1,705.00 to purchase an oil filter crusher be approved. Ayes:
Two. Absent: Krizek. Motion carried.
