Moved by (jetty, seconded by Krizek that the Minulcs ►►I I)cceinhei 21, 1995, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Leisure Services Director for authorization to proceed with renovation of the Byrnes Park maintenance building was reviewed. The renovation will create a new reception area, offices and storage area in order to move the Sports Department out of the Cultural and Arts Building into what will be the Leisure Services Commission offices. The project involves converting the current park construction shop area to offices. The construction shop will be moved into a vehicle storage area. The project will be done with a combination of in-house labor and contracts. The Leisure Services Department staff will act as general contractor for the project. The preliminary cost estimate is $50,000.00 The Leisure Services Commission budget currently has $20,000.00 available and the balance will be available with the spring issuance of G.O. bond funds for park improvements. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that the Leisure Services Director be authorized to proceed with said renovations. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The bids received for a radio system for the new office site for the Sanitation & Recycling Department were reviewed. Quotes were solicited from Radio Communications and Iowa Radio for the following equipment: purchase and installation of 4 remote desk sets, 12 mobiles, 4 new two channel radios and hook-up to Engineering Department's base. Radio Communications submitted a quote in the amount of$3,740.80, and Iowa Radio submitted a quote in the amount of$4,680.00. It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Sanitation & Recycling that the low bid from Radio Communications in the amount of $3,740,80 be accepted. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that a sewer refund in the amount of$24.70 for 1138 Grant Avenue be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that a garbage refund in the amount of $300.00 for 227 Park Road be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The following bids received for removal of old carpeting and installation of new carpeting in the Terminal area at the Waterloo Airport were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Hanisch Floor Covering $5,706.94 Riley's Floors and More $7,472.63 Peterman & Haes Carpeting $7,936.00 The Waterloo Airport Commission accepted the low bid from Hanisch Floor Covering in the amount of$5,706.94 at its November 17, 1998 meeting. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that the Waterloo Airport Commission be authorized to pay the invoice from Hanisch Floor Covering in the amount of $5,706.94 for floor covering for the Waterloo Airport Terminal. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Assistant Director of Aviation for authorization to pay an invoice in the amount of$1,200.00 for removal of tanks at the Waterloo Airport was reviewed. In accordance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, it was required that one 2,000 gallon diesel tank and one 300 gallon tank be upgraded, replaced or closed before December 22, 1998.
