Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that the Minutes of December 14, 1998, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Administrative Director for authorization to remodel the existing lobby passenger elevator in City Hall was reviewed. Schumacher Elevator Company, Inc. has submitted a proposal in the amount of$4,650.00. The work includes: installation of new digital position indicator, installation of new drop ceiling, installation of plastic laminate directly to steel walls, cover existing header with #4 stainless steel, cover existing return with #4 stainless steel, installation of phone cabinet, and installation of stainless steel reveals and offset panels. The cost of the work will be paid from the Facilities Maintenance budget and City Hall construction and maintenance fund. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that the proposal received from Schumacher Elevator Company, Inc. in the amount of$4,650.00 to remodel the elevator located in the lobby of City Hall be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Building Official for authorization to purchase a Dell laptop with modem at a cost of$3,539.00 was reviewed. The increased number of inspections has made it necessary to upgrade the communications between inspectors/office and inspectors/contractors. After working with MIS Department, it was recommended that the inspectors be able to make direct interface with the permit system via a laptop/phone system. The cost to purchase the laptop/phone system is estimated at $3,539.00. The Computer Technical Review Committee reviewed and approved said purchase at its December 16, 1998 meeting. The request of the Waterloo Public Library for authorization to purchase computer software and equipment at a cost of $1,388.99 was reviewed. The Computer Technical Review Committee reviewed and approved said purchase at its December 16, 1998 meeting. The equipment was included in Year 3 of the Computer Plan. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the City Clerk for authorization to purchase a HP 4000 Laserjet printer and a Dell PC with Pentium II processor at a cost of$2,890.00 was reviewed. The Clerk's office has been working with the MIS Department to develop new software for parking enforcement. The new software will require that the PC used by parking enforcement have additional memory capability. The printer currently being used to print notices and letters is an Okidata dot matrix. The total cost for the purchase of the printer and PC is $2,890.00. The Computer Technical Review Committee reviewed and approved the purchase of the printer and PC at its December 16, 1998 meeting.
