Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that the Minutes of December 7, 1998, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of Mary Williams for a loan in the amount of$25,000.00 from the Revolving Loan Fund was reviewed. The loan will allow Ms. Williams to purchase the building she now rents for her Tunes From the Heart day care facility located at 307 E. Donald Street. The loan in the amount of$25,000.00 is at 6.38 percent interest with a 5 year balloon, with personal guarantees from Melvin and Mary Williams as well as a mortgage on the property. The building is being sold for $161,500.00 on a contract to Mary Williams, and $9,000.00 of the loan will be guaranteed by the current owner of the building. Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that said loan in the amount of $25,000.00 to Mary Williams from the Revolving Loan Fund be approved. Ayes: Two. Abstain: Krizek. Motion carried. The request of the Fire Medical Supervisor for authorization to rent a John Deere Gator unit and to purchase a Med-Bed at a cost of $3,350.00 was reviewed. Waterloo Implement and John Deere have offered the use of a John Deere Gator at a cost of$1.00 per year. The vehicle will be used to transport sick or injured people from the bike trails or other circumstances where larger vehicles, such as an ambulance, may not have access. They have agreed to replace the Gator each year. It is necessary to purchase the Med-Bed portion of the unit. This is a one-time purchase as the Med-Bed will be compatible to the new model each year. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that the request of the Superintendent of Water Pollution/Flood Control for pre-authorization to expend $3,780.00 to pay for crane services for work performed on digester#1 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that the request of the Superintendent of Water Pollution/Flood Control for pre-authorization to expend $1,677.00 to purchase a replacement hose for the flusher be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Parks Superintendent for pre- authorization to expend $3,500.00 to install play structure at Cloverdale Park be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that the request of the Parks Superintendent for pre- authorization to expend $2,500.00 to install play structure at Devonshire Park be approved.
