Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the Agenda, as amended to add Item No. 8 under New Business entitled, "Approval of agreement with Iowa State University for the Hazardous Materials Regional Training Center to conduct classes", be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the Minutes of September 14, 1998, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The following bids received for a power washer for Fire Rescue were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Hotsy Equipment $3,634.20 Landa, Inc. $3,898.00 It was the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the bid from Hotsy Equipment in the amount of $3,634.20 be accepted. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The following bids received to waterproof and tuckpoint the brick around the McCandless building were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Vinton Tuckpointing, Inc. $2,480.00 Restoration Services, Inc. $1,400.00 McDuffee Chimney& Construction $2,850.00 It was the recommendation of the Assistant Director of Aviation that the low bid from Restoration Services, Inc. in the amount of$1,400.00 be accepted. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The request of the Assistant Director of Aviation to approve repairs to the Canon copier at a cost of$1,017.52 was reviewed. In August the airport received heavy rains and water leaked into the room where the Canon copier is kept and into the copier causing extensive damage. Advanced Systems, Inc. has repaired the copier at a cost of $1,017.52. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that said request be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. The following quotes received for soil testing in conjunction with removal of underground storage tanks from the McCandless ramp were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Blackhawk Environmental Testing, Inc. $1,980.00 Terracon $3,500.00 Denver Construction No Quote The airport has removed the underground storage tanks from the McCandless ramp in accordance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's regulations. Blackhawk Environmental Testing, Inc. was chosen to test and monitor the soil for contamination. The testing has been completed and no contamination of soil was found. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that the invoice from Blackhawk Environmental Testing, Inc. in the amount of $1,980.00 for soil testing and monitoring in conjunction with removal of underground storage tanks from the McCandless ramp be approved.
