Members present: Chairperson Angel, Wright.
Members absent: Buck.
It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent: Buck. Motion
carried.
The following bids were reviewed for smoke stack removal for
property in the block bounded by East Fourth, East Fifth, Sycamore
and Lafayette Streets:

It was the recommendation of the Planning and Development Director
that the low bid of Prairie Construction be approved with funding •
provided by Black Hawk County. It was moved by Wright, seconded by
Angel that said recommendation be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent:
Buck. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for construction of a parking lot
on city-owned property in the block bounded by Mulberry, East
Fifth, Lafayette and East Fourth Streets:

It was the recommendation of the City Engineer that the bid of
Bowers Masonry, Inc. in the amount of $67 , 814 .70 be approved with
the city' s share of said project estimated to be $22, 886 . 52 . It
was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that said bid be approved.
Ayes: Two. Absent: Buck. Motion carried.
The request of the Acting Fire Chief for authorization to purchase
a pulse oximeter unit for ambulance calls was reviewed. Acting
Fire Chief Frank Magsamen reported that said equipment measures the
oxygen saturation in the blood stream through a non-invasive,
infrared detection devise. The cost of said unit is $696 per unit
plus freight for a total of $702. 65. It was moved by Wright,
seconded by Angel that authorization be given to purchase said
unit. Ayes: Two. Absent: Buck. Motion carried.
It was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that the bills payment be
approved as contained in Schedule A918, pp. 1 - 49 in the amount of
$691 , 644 . 68 , dated November 15 , 1993 . Ayes: Two. Absent: Buck.
Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned at 6: 34 p.m.
