Members present: Chairperson Angel, Wright and Buck.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the Agenda, as
amended to delete Item No. 2 under New Business entitled "Approval
of bid submitted by K & W Electric for placement of fiber optic
lines to Black Hawk County Courthouse and Carnegie Annex--City
Planner" be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried.
The request of the property owner located at 212 Bates Street for
the cancellation of unpaid garbage fees in the amount of $87 . 57 and
sewer fees in the amount of $133 . 19 was reviewed. This item was
delayed from August 18 , 1993 to allow Councilperson Wright to
review the situation. She reported that this house has been vacant
during the time frame indicated and recommended its cancellation.
Staff reported that this is an unusual request in that special
assessments have not been canceled for vacant property that had
previously been certified. It was moved by Buck, seconded by
Wright that said cancellation be recommended to the City Council
for approval. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for parking attendant services for
the West Fifth Street parking ramp:

It was the recommendation of the Acting Clerk/Auditor that the low
bid of Manpower Temporary Services be approved. This is the same
rate that the city has paid for the last two years. It was moved
by Buck, seconded by Wright that said recommendation be approved.
Ayes : Three. Motion carried.
