The following bids were reviewed for the purchase of a laser speed
detection unit for the Police Department:
Bidder Total Bid
Kustom Signals, Inc. $4, 590 . 00
Laser Technology, Inc. $4 , 019. 00

The request of Elmwood Cemetery, 226 Elmwood Drive, for forgiveness
of current sewer rental charges in the amount of $112 . 32 and to
credit the previous quarter in the amount of $29 . 64 was reviewed.
Sewer rental fees were being charged for water that is being used
for watering graves and does not enter the sewer system. Elmwood
Cemetery, at its own cost, will relocate the pay box which will
meter water use for the home only. It was moved by Wright,
seconded by Angel that said adjustment be made. Ayes: Two.
Absent: Buck. Motion carried.
The 1994 garbage exemption schedule was reviewed. Michelle
Temeyer, Acting Clerk/Auditor, stated that the proposed schedule
correlates family size and the federal poverty income guidelines .
Those applicants meeting 1000 of the federal poverty income
guidelines would receive a 50o exemption from garbage fees and
those meeting 50a of federal poverty income guidelines would pay
$3 . 25 per month for fees. This amount reflects costs paid by other
garbage users unrelated to garbage collection. It was moved by
Wright, seconded by Angel that action on said item be tabled to
allow members to review said schedule. Ayes: Two. Absent: Buck.
Motion carried.
The request of the Police Chief for authorization to allow Reserve
Officer Sarah Hayes to purchase four jackets at a cost of $5 . 00
each was reviewed. Committee members expressed concern that said
items should be offered for public bid. Chief Koehrsen stated that
the jackets are of little value and it would cost more to advertise
said items than they are worth. It was moved by Wright, seconded
by Angel that the Police Chief be given authorization to dispose of
said items, as necessary. Ayes: Two. Absent: Buck. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that the bills payment be

adjourned at 6: 55 p.m.
