Members present: Chairperson Angel, Wright and Buck.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for radios and chargers for the
Waterloo Fire Rescue:
Electronics Engineering
Fort Dodge, Iowa

2-Two Way Mobile Radios $3420 . 00

Waterloo, Iowa
1-Two Way Portable Radio $ 568. 16

West Des Moines, Iowa
1-Two Way Portable Radio $ 739 . 00
2-Two Way Mobile Radios $3062 . 00
It was the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the low bid of
Iowa Radio be approved. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright
that said recommendation be approved. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for radios for the Central Garage:
Iowa Radio $ 534 . 24
Motorola Communications & Electronics $ 698 . 00
Electronics Engineering Co. $ 599 . 00
It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of the Central
Garage that the low bid of Iowa Radio be approved. It was moved by
Buck, seconded by Wright that said recommendation be approved.
Motion carried.
The request of Captain Donald Baruth of the Waterloo Police
Department for authorization to purchase his issue gun belt, inner
belt, magazine pouch and holster at a cost of $50 was reviewed.
Captain Baruth will soon be retiring and will receive his service
revolver which is customary practice for officers with more than 22
years of service. Captain Baruth has 32 years of service to the
city. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that authorization
be given to allow Captain Baruth to purchase said equipment.
Motion carried.
Bruce Meisinger, Budget Analyst, noted that the bills payment
includes principal and interest on long term debt for capital
improvements. It was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that the
bills payment be approved as contained in Schedule A918 , pp. 1 - 52
in the amount of $6,088, 854 .73, dated April 26, 1993 . Ayes:
Angel, Wright. Abstain: Buck. Motion carried.
With no further business before the Committee, the meeting was
adjourned at 6 : 40 p.m.
