The following bids were reviewed for window blinds, without motor, for the Exhibition Hall at the 5 Sullivan Brothers Convention Center: Aluminum Fabric Bidder Vertical Blind Vertical Blind Prairie Construction, Inc. $4 , 140 $8, 570 Peterman & Haes, Inc. $2, 489 $6, 064 It was the recommendation of the Clerk/Auditor that the low bid of Peterman & Haes, Inc. for aluminum blinds be approved. Originally, this item was bid with a motor; however, due to the high cost, this option was studied and Convention personnel consulted. It was their determination that a motorized blind was not necessary and that a manual driven blind would be appropriate. The aluminum blind will be color coordinated with the color scheme at the Convention Center. This is at a considerable less cost than originally bid as a part of the construction items. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that authorization be given to proceed with the bid of Peterman & Haes, Inc . for the aluminum blind. Motion carried. Recodification proposals for the City Code of Ordinances were reviewed from Municipal Code, the current codification company for the city, Sterling and Iowa Codification. It was the recommendation of the Clerk/Auditor' s Office that the bid of Sterling Codifiers be approved in the amount of $13 ,980 which includes printing 100 copies of the completed code. This 18-month process will include complete rewrite of several city ordinances along with a revised format which will be 8z x 11 double columns. It will also have an updated board and commission listing and revised easy-to-use index. The bid amount was considerably less than the $20 , 000 projection. It was moved by Angel, seconded by Wright that authorization be given to proceed with codification services with Sterling Codifiers.
