The Agenda, as proposed, was approved.
The following bids were reviewed for the purchase of a fire alarm
audio/paging system at the Fire Department:

It was the recommendation of the Fire Department that the low bid
of Communications Engineering Company in the amount of $16 , 247 for
Alternate I & II be approved. This will be funded through the
City' s lease purchase program. It was moved by Wright, seconded by
Angel that authorization to proceed with the purchase of said item
be approved. Motion carried.
Bill Ratekin, Transportation Engineer, presented bids for a
Notebook Computer utilized for field data entry for the yearly re-
inventory of the Pavement Management System. Mr. Ratekin noted
that four bids were received but were unusually high. City staff
contacted several mail order firms directly to obtain prices and
have received a price of $1100 from Tredex for a computer and
associated equipment. Said items meet bid specifications and the
Department recommended approval. It was moved by Wright, seconded
by Angel that authorization to purchase said item from Tredex be
approved. Motion carried. •
Authorization to bid linens for the 5 Sullivan Brothers Convention
Center was reviewed. This purchase will include curtains,
skirting, tablecloths and stage skirting. Committee members
suggested that an alternate be presented to bidders to allow the
leasing of linens. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that
authorization to proceed with bidding said items (purchase and/or
leasing) be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that authorization be
given to seek bids for an auctioneer for the city auction to be
held on Saturday, June 13 , 1992 at Anniversary Hall, National
Cattle Congress. Motion carried.
The request of the City Planner/Transportation Program Manager for
authorization to employ Wayne Claassen Engineering and Surveying
Inc. to survey excess right-of-way located at the southwest corner
of Vinton and Independence Avenue was reviewed. Wayne Claassen is
being used for this survey because they were the consulting
engineer on the Independence Avenue Project and have all survey
information. It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that
authorization be given to proceed with said survey. Motion
carried.
