It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Motion carried. The following bids were reviewed for the purchase of a tractor and mower for Parks and Forestry: Tractor Bids Bidder Amount Bid Waterloo Implement, Inc. $28 , 400. 00 Ranard and Seegers Implement $29, 200. 00 Case Power and Equipment $35, 439 . 00 Phelps Implement No Bid Swaney Equipment Company No Bid Mower Bids Bidder Amount Bid Ankeny Tractor $18, 941 . 00 Rexco Equipment, Inc. $20, 885 . 00 Doyle Equipment $23 , 981. 00 Cook Sales and Service $23, 985 . 00 Swaney Equipment Company No Bid It was the recommendation of the Director of Parks and Forestry that the bid of Waterloo Implement in the amount of $28, 400 for the tractor and from Ankeny Tractor for the mower in the amount of $18 , 941 be approved. It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that said recommendation be approved. Motion carried. The recommendations of the Clerk/Auditor to accept the following bids for the final renovation portion of the 5 Sullivan Brothers Convention Center was reviewed: Group & Low Bidder Amount Budget Estimate Furnishings Office Concepts $7,725 . 80 $8, 000 Upholstery Work Peyton' s Upholstery $9 , 833 . 10 $6, 000 Silk Plants The Silk Plant Company $2, 284 . 50 $3, 500 Custom Area Rug Peterman and Haes $ 487 . 00 $2, 500 Signage ASI Sign Systems $6 , 854 . 54 $8 ,000 Paula Holdiman, representing INTRA, stated that the upholstery bid was higher than expected due to an increase in fabric and the budget estimate was one year old. She also noted that the carpeting bid was lower than expected because the bidder was able to use carpet remnants . It was moved by Wright, seconded by Buck that authorization be given to purchase said items as recommended. Motion carried. The request of the Building Department and Planning and Development Division for authorization to purchase a FAX machine was reviewed. Lou Cutwright, Building Official, noted that the division receives 18 faxes per day and sends approximately 5-8 faxes each day. This equipment will be funded from increased revenues generated from building permits.
