Members present: Chairperson Angel, Wright and Buck.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Motion carried.
The following bids were reviewed for a VHS Camcorder for the Police
Department:
Porters Warehouse Outlet Store - No Bid
The Sound Room - #1 - $750, #2 - $300
It was the recommendation of the Police Department that the only
low compliant bid of the Sound Room be approved. Funds are
available through the Governor ' s Alliance on Substance Abuse Grant.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that said recommendation
be approved. Motion carried.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that the Police Department
be given authorization to repurchase one ammunition item due to an
error in approving one bid submitted by Law Enforcement Equipment
Company. Motion carried.
The following bids and recommendations of the Park Commission were
reviewed:

Rick Tagtow, Director of Parks and Forestry, noted that although
several items were not in the budget, including cash registers and
the Byrnes Pro Shop Carpet, he will not over expend the golf course
budget and may need to cut in other areas to make up for these
purchases. The golf course trim mower is financed through the
City' s lease purchase program. The concrete block and flat work
for the Hoing-Rice Rest Room are financed with general obligation
bonds and are a part of the ongoing park improvement fund. It was
moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that authorization be given to
purchase said items. Motion carried.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that authorization be
given to the Fire Chief to purchase six small FM two-way portable
radios with vehicular charges for ambulance personnel. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Buck, seconded by Wright that authorization be
given to the Recreation Commission to seek informal bids for the
rotary roof decking project to be financed with a gift from the
Waterloo Rotary Club and the Waterloo Civic Foundation. Motion
carried.
It was moved by Wright, seconded by Angel that authorization be
given to the Police Department to purchase six person box lockers
for use in the dispatch center at a cost of $210 from Matt Parrott
& Sons . Ayes : Wright , Angel. Abstain: Buck. Motion carried.
The request of the Police Chief for authorization to send four dogs
and their handlers to the Police K-9 Work Dog Retraining and
Recertification Seminar at the Police Training Center on Elk Run
